We started the trip at 7:30 where Abdelrani, one of a kind guide, whose gentle manners and studied BA historian knowledge exceeded our expectations. He picked us up with an extremely comfortable car and started telling us with passion interesting and relevant information about the city with a flawless English. We stopped at a new renovated traditional cafe for breakfast where you could listen to one of the most beautiful chants as background music while admiring the dry river view. We continued our journey with strategic breathtaking stops on the way to our final destination where we arrived before all the other tourists since we started our trip 1 hour before the usual time - thanks Abdelrani professionalism and know-how. We arrived at Kasba Ait BenHaddou where a wonderful tangine and couscous was waiting for us at a rooftop restaurant facing the UNESCO site of the old city of BenHaddou. There we met our local guide, Jamal, one of the most charming and full of vitality man who besides very knowledgeable is a star - he took part in the Game of Thrones and Aladdin amongst other movies- and whose charisma is contagious. He showed us his house - there are only 8 families in this village, he is part of one of them - and invited us for a tea at his home lounge, surrounded by his mother’s carpets, artifacts which dazzled us with so much beauty. On our way back, Abdelrani explained to us the differences between the Berber and Tuaregs as well as insider curiosities and informative stories you don’t find in guides, the salt rout, the struggle of those fascinating human beings who live in the desert. The 4 hours drive back home was smooth. The contrast of the blue sky and the endless terra cotta color vibrated in each part of the road luring our senses and blurring the line between dream and reality. We can’t thank enough the good care Abdelrani and Jamal took of us and all the small thoughtful details that enabled this trip to be remembered for the rest of our lives.

He shared lots of... read more cultural and regional history with us on the drive to the Berber village. Once there, we were served delicious mint tea and were helped onto our camels. The ride was easy, relaxing, and not intimidating at all (about 40-60 minutes with very chill camels), and the views were incredible. The guides took pictures for us as the sun went down. Then, we had a delicious meal by candle light with a camp fire and music in the background. Can't recommend this enough -- the pictures don't do it justice!

We drove to... read more the place and the host was very informative on sights along the way. We then went on the camels and being with family members who are above 60 years old I was a bit worried however they were fine and assured that they would be ok.

We ended up being served tea and some traditional Moroccan bits which was nice and then given a lift home. They also kindly stopped along the way for us to grab some shopping which was very kind of them.

Second day Abdou took us to Essouaria, the coastal city 2 and a half hours drive from Marrakesh. A relaxed and private tour to this beautiful town. ABDOU is a safe driver and very service minded in his profession.He explains to you everything and he is a good english speaker, which was necessary for us. We would definitely recommend him as a guide!

  The most memorable highlight of our holiday to Marrakech was the fantastic one day tour to the foothills of the Atlas Mountains with Abdel. He was such a friendly guy... read more and very polite and professional. He has wonderful knowledge of Marrakesh and Morocco. He spoke perfect English and could not have been more accommodating, stopping at any photo spots we wanted and answering our many questions about the local culture. This was my first time in Morocco and I will definitely return as this trip has given me an insight into the wonderful culture.
Abdel collected us from our Riad and took us up to the mountains to see the Four Valleys. The scenery was panoramic with beautiful vistas. The trip included a short walk up to see a waterfall helped by a local guide who was great fun and a lovely lunch with a local Berber family. Abdel drove us safely around all day and we felt relaxed, safe and comfortable at all times. I couldn't recommend a tour with Abdel any more highly and we will certainly be booking with him again the next time return to Marrakech. it is clear to see how much he enjoys making people happy.

We rode camels through the dunes to watch the sun set in breathtaking surroundings, and then returned... read more to a tent to eat a delicious Berber meal and drink tea in a nomad's tent around a fire. The second time there was music! There are clean bathrooms nearby, and the camels are easier to ride than I feared (I'm middle aged and not very agile). Abdelghani is our favorite guide! His English is excellent, and he is kind, responsive, and knowledgeable. He is very careful about choosing the best spots, and he loves to share the beauties of Morocco with guests. This ride was only about 50 km from Marrakech. The other desert excursions are much farther, but this has everything you would want nearer to the city.

Not to be missed, and it was great to have a guided tour that touched on the religious and historical details, as well as on all the films (Gladiator, Aladdin, Game of Thrones) shot on the site.
